Percy, an Alocasia Portodora or Upright Elephants Ear, is adorned with glossy green, lush tropical leaves. His scalloped leaves sit on thick green stems, which is where he gets his nickname of the Upright Elephants Ear plant.

Native to Southeast Asia, in the wild Percy's leaves can grow to 90cm, and he can reach heights of 4m! Don't worry though, he won't get that big inside.

  • Percy prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
