Yolanda, a baby Alocasia Yucatan Princess, is a fairly unusual member of the family. She has glossy dark green leaves with a dark red-purple underbelly, sprouting from deep red-brown stems - definitely a show stopper.
Native to Asia and Eastern Australia, Yoldanda is relatively new to the UK market. If you're lucky, she can grow up to 2m tall, but, try not to worry, this could take a while!
Yolanda, Baby Alocasia Yucatan Princess
Yolanda prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
