Rebecca, a Syngonium Red Heart or Syngonium Podophyllum, is a jungle-dwelling plant with dusky pink and green heart-like leaves. New leaves start off green and progressively get brighter and pinker with time!
Native to Mexico, Brazil, and Bolivia, Rebecca is a climbing plant, which means she's more commonly found attached to larger trees. As she likes to climb, you could always add a stake or coir pole so she can reach her full potential.
Rebecca, Baby Syngonium Red Heart
Rebecca prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
