Zendaya, a baby Zenzi Zamioculcas Zamiifolia or ZZ plant, is the smaller cousin to Zam, our regular ZZ plant. Because Zendaya is slighter than Zam she’s perfect for your desk!
 
Believe it or not, ZZ plants have ball-shaped masses under the soil called rhizomes that can store water – kind of like a camel hump! The ways it’s adapted to those conditions are the reason it’s such an excellent, easy-going houseplant.
 
Due to Zendaya's characteristics, her roots grow in such a way that they can cause disfigurement to the nursery pot. This is caused by Zendaya's rhizomes, in English meaning ball-shaped growths that hold water. This is completely normal, and Zendaya thrives when her roots are tightly packed.
