Birdie is sometimes known as Spleenwort, because it was once thought to be beneficial to the spleen. She's incredibly easy to look after making her a popular choice house plant collections.
Birdie, Bird's Nest Fern
Birdie prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
