Magnus, a Caladium Lindenii Magnificum, formerly Xanthosoma Lindenii, is exactly what it says on the tin - magnificent. He has large variegated arrow-shaped bright green leaves with bold white veins for the ultimate jungle vibe! Because of the shape of his leaves, Magnus is also commonly known as the 'Angel Wing' plant.
Native to the rainforests of South America, Magnus is a tuberous plant, which means his leaves will die back during the winter months and eventually go dormant. Don't worry though, you can save the tubers and once springtime comes around, he'll be back!
Magnus, Caladium Lindenii Magnificum
Magnus prefers indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight wouldn’t go a miss.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
