Paulina, a Caladium Party Punch or Caladium Hortulanum, is a slightly more rare member of the family, with translucent bright pink leaves and veins with green edges, eyecatching, to say the least. Her leaves are paper-thin and almost appear to illuminate when catching the sunlight.
Native to the rainforests of South America, Paulina is a tuberous plant, which means her leaves will die back during the winter months and eventually go dormant. Don't worry though, you can save the tubers and once springtime comes around, he'll be back!
Paulina, Caladium Party Punch
Paulina prefers indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight wouldn’t go a miss.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
