Krystina, a Euphorbia Lactea Cristata or Coral Cactus, definitely looks like some sort of monstrous alien lifeform which is probably why her popularity is growing!
Believe it or not, Krystina is actually a mixture of two plants that have been grafted together. This may seem like something out of this world, but it's actually very common.
The bottom half of this plant is a cactus whilst the top is a succulent - if you look carefully you can see where the two join together; it's the 'V' shape just under the top half of the cactus.
The succulent that sits on top is a real showstopper, with its distinctive shape resembling an ocean coral or a geishas fan.
Currently available in 3 colours:
- Mostly green fan
- Mostly white fan
- Mostly white-pink fan
Krystina, Euphorbia Lactea Cristata
Krystina prefers bright light and once established will even tolerate direct sun.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
