Figaro, a Fiddle Leaf Fig or Ficus Lyrata Bambino, is without a doubt one of the most recognisable houseplants around, and he's definitely enjoying the spotlight!

Figaro's large glossy leaves resemble the shape of a fig, hence the name, and if he’s happy he'll reach heights of more than six feet.

Native to the rainforests of West Africa, Figaro actually grows in and amongst the branches of other trees. As he grows, his roots wrap their way down the host tree, eventually reaching to the ground and in doing so strangling the tree - gruesome!

  • Figaro prefers bright without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight wouldn’t go a miss.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
