Bellatrix, a Hoya Bella, is a beautiful climber with waxy leaves and tight clusters of sweet-smelling red-eyed white flowers, which is where one of her nicknames, the honey plant, comes from.

Her full name derives from the famous botanist Thomas Hoy, and the word Bella, which means beautiful.

Bellatrix is native to the tropical forest regions of Australia, Indonesia, India, and China, and in the wild, she can grow up to 2 or 3 feet tall and wide!

  • Bellatrix prefers bright indirect light without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
