Porter, a Hoya Pubicalyx or Wax Plant, is a stunning trailing variety with deep green lanceolate leaves with sparkling silvery markings, depending on how much light he receives, his stems can take on shades of purple.
If Porter is happy, clusters of fragrant star-shaped flowers appear on his vines which can vary from white to pink, red and purple.
Interestingly, Porter is known to live for decades, so she’s basically a friend for life!
Porter, Hoya Pubicalyx
Porter prefers bright indirect light without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
