Just like fruit & veg, plants come in all shapes and sizes. Some might not come top of a beauty contest, but they'll still put a smile on your face for years to come. Our Perfectly Imperfect Plants are exactly that.

They might be a strange shape or have the odd mark, but they're still beautiful. No matter which way these plants grow, or the marks they show, they're still as healthy as every other plant we sell.

What are my imperfections?

  • I was damaged in transit, which means I'm not quite as full as I could be
  • Some of my leaves have the odd dry patch on them
  • As I'm not 'perfect', I can't be returned, and I'm not covered by a guarantee

Beatrix, an Alocasia Amazonica Bambino Arrow or Jewel Alocasia, is a close relative of the Pippa, our Alocasia Polly. Just like Pippa, Beatrix has dark green leaves with silver-white veins that almost look like a bolt of lightning.

Native to the rainforests of South America, Beatrix is used to swamp-like conditions, so make sure you don’t let her dry out or she might not forgive you!

  • Beatrix prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
