Just like fruit & veg, plants come in all shapes and sizes. Some might not come top of a beauty contest, but they'll still put a smile on your face for years to come. Our Perfectly Imperfect Plants are exactly that. They might be a strange shape or have the odd mark, but they're still beautiful. No matter which way these plants grow, or the marks they show, they're still as healthy as every other plant we sell.

What are my imperfections?

  • I've grown a bit wayward
  • Some of my stems might have a bit of damage
  • The odd leaf had to be removed
  • As I'm not 'perfect', I can't be returned, and I'm not covered by a guarantee

The Swiss Cheese Plant or Monstera Deliciosa is one of the most popular houseplants there is. You can see why with its huge, shiny leaves - in fact, Monstera Deliciosa literally translates to 'Delicious Monster'.

The reason its leaves are full of holes is that it’s used to growing in the shade of a jungle canopy. It’s an epiphyte, which means it grows in small gaps in and around large trees. Believe it or not, the gaps in its leaves allow light to reach the lower areas of the plant.

If you order a small plant it may arrive without notches in all its leaves, but don't worry, they'll appear as it matures. With its gorgeous waxy leaves, it’s a real statement plant. It’s super easy to take care of, and will even tolerant lower light.

  • Wallace prefers bright indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
