Malcolm, a Philodendron ‘Malay Gold’, is a rare plant with large paddle-like bright lime green leaves.

Native to Thailand, Malcolm is a fast-growing climber which means he’ll aim to reach skies. He’ll thank you for some support to grow up, such as a coir pole, moss pole, or bamboo stick.

Interestingly Malcolm is a hybrid, which means he’s the result of cross pollinating two different plant varieties and growing the seed the mix produces.

  • Malcolm prefers indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight wouldn’t go a miss.

If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:

    • Minimal shadow = lower light
    • Half shadow = indirect light
    • Full shadow = direct sun
