Manny, a Philodendron Micans, Philodendron Hederaceum var. Hederaceum, or Velvet Leaf Philodendron, is a more rare variety that has an iridescent bronze shimmer to its velvety heart-shaped leaves – no really, they literally glisten!
As new leaves unfurl they appear a chartreuse color outlined in pink, progressing to a deep green colour with a deep purple-red underbelly, which looks comes across as rusty orange when the light shines through.
Native to the Caribbean and Mexico, Manny belongs to the Araceae family which believe it or not includes the likes of Wallace, our Monstera Deliciosa, and Clarence, our Anthurium Clarinervium!

Manny prefers indirect light to partial shade, without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight wouldn’t go a miss.
