Norman, a Norfolk Island Pine or Araucaria Heterophylla, offers a modern take on the classic Christmas Tree.

Interestingly, Norman isn't actually a Pine, in fact, he's part of an ancient group of plants called Araucariaceae, which predate dinosaurs! Norman gets his name from a little territory off the coast of New Zealand, called, you guessed it, Norfolk Island. The island is home to 174 native plants, 51 of which can't be found anywhere else in the world.

Now, as much as Norman looks like a Christmas tree, he's more used to tropical conditions, which means he likes it warmer and more humid, like many other indoor plants. This also means you can't pop Norman outside after Christmas - you won't be his biggest fan!
