Pepé, a Peperomia Scandens Variegata, or Cupid Peperomia, is one of the more rare hanging plants native to South America and Mexico.
He has succulent like heart-shaped leaves, adorned with bright green and yellow-white colours, and if you’re lucky small greenish-white flowers.
There are over 100 varieties of Peperomias, some of which, such as Peperomia Caperata and Obtusifolia are already popular house plants, whereas Pepé is a less well known but equally decorative member of the family.
Pepé, Peperomia Scandens Variegata - Small
Pepé prefers bright indirect light without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
