Chloe, a Sansevieria Cylindrica Twister, has to be one of the coolest shaped plants out there! As you might have guessed, her leaves, or fronds, have been hand-shaped to achieve her unmistakeable 'twister' look!
Just like her cousins, she's as tough as they come and will survive almost anything you throw at her. She grows primarily across Africa, which means she's used to both hot and dry conditions.
To deal with the hottest temperatures during the day they actually close their pores stopping any water loss by evaporation. Then, at night when the temperature drops all of its pores open up releasing all the oxygen they've been holding onto - that's why they're such great air purifyers.
Chloe, Sansevieria Cylindrica Twister
Chloe can cope with any light conditions you throw at her, ranging from bright sunlight all the way down to shady corners.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
