Preston, a Snake Plant, or Sansevieria Fernwood Punk, is a plant with attitude! He gets his nickname from the shape of his fronds, which resemble some sort of punk hairstyle. Not only that, but he has dark green leaves with bright green tiger-print striping - talk about funky!
Just like his cousins, Preston is as tough as they come and will survive almost anything you throw at him. They grow primarily across Africa which means they're used to both hot and dry conditions.
To deal with the hottest temperatures during the day they actually close their pores stopping any water loss by evaporation. Then, at night when the temperature drops all of its pores open up releasing all the oxygen they've been holding onto - that's why they're such great air purifyers.

Preston can cope with any light conditions you throw at him, ranging from bright sunlight all the way down to shady corners.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
