Gonzalo, a Snake Plant, or Sansevieria Star Green Granite, is one of the rarely seen members of the wider Snake Plant family. His leaves are very similar in appearance to his cousin, Sirius, a Sansevieria Zeylanica, with various shades of green - the only difference is the contrasting pink edge that Gonzalo shows off with.
Snake Plants are as tough as they come and will survive almost anything you throw at them. They grow primarily across Africa, which means they're used to both hot and dry conditions.
To deal with the hottest temperatures during the day they actually close their pores stopping any water loss by evaporation. Then, at night when the temperature drops all of their pores open up releasing all the oxygen they've been holding onto - that's why they're such great air purifiers.

Gonzalo can cope with any light conditions you throw at him, ranging from bright sunlight all the way down to shady corners.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
