Peggy, a Tradescantia Purple Passion, or Wandering Jew, is certainly something special, especially in this size! Her long graceful leaves are a deep purple colour with green-silver luminescent stripes.
Native to Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico, Peggy is a hugely popular houseplant the world over because she's easy to care for. Occasionally, Peggy will flower, revealing tiny pink or purple flowers, which might only last a single day!
Peggy, Tradescantia Purple Passion
Peggy prefers bright indirect light without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
