Qiana, a Tradescantia Quadricolor or Four-Coloured Spiderwort, has smaller than those found on Zita, our Tradescantia Zebrina, and her leaves are more round in shape. The best thing about Qiana is the colour of her leaves, which range from shades of cream, green, pink, to purple in broad stripes.
Native to Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico, Qiana is a hugely popular houseplant the world over because she's easy to care for. Occasionally, she will flower, revealing tiny white three-petalled flowers.
Qiana, Tradescantia Quadricolor
Qiana prefers bright indirect light without prolonged exposure to direct sun - a touch of morning sunlight however would be welcomed.
If you’re not sure what level of light you have, check the shadows cast by your plant:
- Minimal shadow = lower light
- Half shadow = indirect light
- Full shadow = direct sun
