PRODUCT PROJECT

The Bike Seat Buggy

When parents cycle with their young children they are faced with the difficult task of carrying their child around their chosen destination, leaving them tired and frustrated.

The Bike Seat Buggy is a dual functioning product that helps make cycling with young children an easy, enjoyable activity. Most bikes are unable to carry a pram as well as a rear fitted bike seat. The Bike Seat Buggy is an innovative design that provides both products in one. When attached the product replicates a rear fitted bike seat and, when required, the product can be detached safely and quickly and be used as a pushchair. A pannier rack fitted over the rear wheel holds the Bike Seat Buggy in place and also provides the mechanism to remove the buggy safely, with ease and most importantly, without having to remove the child from the seat.

The Bike Seat Buggy includes necessary features for its use as a pushchair such as retractable rain hood, swivel wheels and an adjustable handle.

SYSTEMS PROJECT

Tot Watch - Baby monitoring system for deaf parents

The current market is lacking innovative products for the deaf community. Existing baby monitors lack portability, an important feature for all parents with busy lifestyles.

Tot Watch is a portable baby monitoring system designed with deaf parents in mind but enabling a better user experience for everyone. Inclusive design has meant that every parent can benefit from the Tot Watch.

The parent unit is encased in a wearable, interchangeable wrist band allowing it to be used at all times of the day. Linking to a comfort blanket bear via internet gives the ability to expand the system by purchasing more wrist bands for other family members.

The comfort blanket bear detects noise and attracts the parents attention through an easy to read interface and vibration alerts within the wrist band. The wrist band will alert you with vibration once a loud noise has been detected for over 15 seconds, reducing the need to check on your child unnecessarily. Two way communication can be activated by rocking the wrist band over your arm, allowing a child to be soothed by their parents voice.

The comfort blanket bear also connects to a smart phone app. Using information regarding their child's movement and sound levels throughout the night. The app tells parents about their child's sleep quality and sleeping patterns, helping you to build an efficient night time routine.
